Jumpring affairs
I’m in London at the moment doing a quick photoshoot, and will be back in Warsaw by Tuesday. Apologies to the Warsaw-love post right below, but it’s fantastic to be back; I guess it really takes to be away from a place to truly appreciate it. Owh goodness, I’m so spoiled.
Anyway I thought I’d post how my geometric necklace turned out – tutorial here by Dnyce. I wanted the necklace to be somewhat asymmetric, but being a n00b and all, didn’t realise that it’s not that simple in jewellery architecture, so had to improvise with chains… Huge respect to Dnyce and those others savvy for jewellery construction; it surprisingly requires a lot of logic and craftsmanship, neither of which I posess in great dosage.

I like the little modification you did with the chains in the geometric shape. I think it would be so cool to push this even furthur, and insert even more organic hanging shapes in between the geometry, sort of like visual paradox
As usual, your DIY’s are the best documented and visually nice to look at.

As the Koreans like to say, Above the man who walks, there’s always a man who flies (yuh, so doesn’t make sense but you get it) I think you’re the one that’s always going to fly, you genius. I never thught of that, organic hanging would be fantastic, what an idea… clearly you need to be the one performing that magic though.

You should check Dnyce’s tutorial on this, it’s her DIY so she has the original guidelines :) I personally bought mine in a craft/bead store.

London has a few upsides (most of them related to le girlfriend), but other than that, it stinks. It’s overpopulated, people there are rude, almost everyone is a headlong-rushing self-possessed snob. Knife crime on the rise, dirt everywhere, noise, crappy phone-music, late buses and no trams.. ehhh..
I actually really like the necklace (or w/e that is) that you’re making.
Credits to me for displaying continuous endurance and patience in the weirdo-chain-and-other-crappers (like buttons and pins and.. girly stuff) store.
Also, it’s not n00b, but n()()b. Get your pro-gamer grammar right.

I’m currently putting together Issue #016 of N.E.E.T., a non-profit Online Fashion + Design Magazine, with the emphasis all on grassroots creativity and fashion. N.E.E.T. showcases independent designers, shops and artists from all over the world.
