I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

So we all see now what happens when we try convincing sequins out of Ashish, he lets the wardrobe-moths loose. I must credit the man though, for the sweet juxtaposition of painstaking sequin application with casual destructed knit. I don’t know why, but I always say “meh” after his shows and then go home to find myself growing to love each of the pieces over time. It’s probably a sign that I take things too seriously and thinking that the only things that will ‘grow on me’ are bacteria and hair. I was going to say boobs but we all know… anyway. The spiderwebbed knees were quite the random and sometimes I couldn’t tell if the model was a dude or a dudess, but on hindsight sequins on colourful plaid was a real delight amidst the sea of ‘serious’ that reigned this season’s catwalks.

This post is embarrassingly late, but I wanted to thank Glacéau Vitamin Water and Exposure PR for arranging the amazing front-row ticket.

  5. I’m deeply in love with the spiderwebs. x hivennn

  6. I love Ashish’s designs – apart from the Topshop collection. The deconstructed knits above are making me want to sketch some designs and knit my own version. I can just about afford some balls of Debbie Bliss cashmerino, but not Ashish prices.

  7. just amazing!

  9. As always, I want a pair of their shoes and at least one pair of pants. And I do see a bit of irony in the fact that if this whole collection was in it’s native materials (plaids, wools, etc) it would be an uninteresting collection.

  10. Looove this collection!! Every single piece.

  12. Not a fan of Ashish, a little too loud for me, but this collection sure has lots of cheap & easy DIY potential. Will be looking to thrift an oversized jumper!

  13. cant tell if the model is a girl or a boy but i quite like those glitter skeleton trousers…probably wouldn’t wear them but they would be the perfect item to hang in my ‘they look good but ill never wear them wardrobe’ :P x

  30. Sure was a good seat!
when Ashish first came out I wondered what else he could do with sequins for his following collections. Well, it turns out one can do very amazing stuff with sequins.
His stuff is really interesting and graphic.

  31. love this! i would wear everything in the photos! so rockin!

  32. WOWZA. Or should I say ‘SHEEESH!’

Such incredible photos, I find blogger close-ups do the clothes so much more justice than the catwalk shots from the photographers pit. Controversial statement? Sorry, Style.com et al!

  33. @Imogen Eight, I agree Imogen. I didn’t go to Ashish and after looking at the standard runway images you miss so many of the details of what actually makes it incredible and so beautiful. Third photo from the bottom is my absolute favourite. I had no idea from anything else I had seen that the trousers had zip pockets… purple sequined top under a moth bitten looking jumper?? you can only see the beauty of this when you see an image from this so close up.

  34. Personally, I always love Ashish. It’s mental when you see it all together… but actually, I would probably die of joy if I could wear those sequined trousers with the bones down the front. It’s a visual overload when you see it all together.. but who else could make sequined tartan look this cool, but it’s also so wearable. Oh, I can’t even look at the photos anymore… it just hurts because I love it so much and know it could never be mine. *sob*sob*sob. xx

  35. Omg, I LOVE Ashish, almost more than fashion itself. I have to go figure out a way to glue yarn to some pantyhoes in the shape of spiderwebs…
