I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Don’t lean on the walls, they’re wet! and made out of lego! (aka hopeful pieces of coding which I hope will endure the weather of the interwebz) It’s my great pleasure to welcome you to the new layout of Park & Cube. After many months of extra-curricular hours scrubbing and hammering, here it is – not perfect but a lot of thought and work went into it, I really hope it’ll grow on you. The new design has actually been up for over a week already – the period that I personally call hamster playground – so I also wanted to thank those kind, concerned folks who tested things out and sent feedback over that week.

I know many still prefer the straight-forward scrolling marathon – so I’ve made the Classic Blog Mode is available here: http:parkandcube.com/blog/, please feel free to access the blog through that link if you wish to skip a step. The reason for the change was because I was mostly feeling sorry for a lot of fun content that was being buried and forgotten in the archives, so I wanted to fish some out and re-share… but I won’t be hurt if you’re only calling to see what’s new!

Click around doods, and if you’d be so kind to let me know what tickles you most my day would so be made.

I like the look of the rolled up pants, which is something I often do because I’m tall & some pants are just a bit too short.

  10. The redesign feels like an extension of your photo aesthetic- clean, bright and thoughtful. I found your blog a couple months ago, shortly after my English Gentleman and I decided to move from Boston to the UK, and I wanted to say that I think you have a great style- both linguistically and aesthetically- and your posts have made me feel a lot better about moving to this part of the world. I’m not even joking, you make London look so effortless and comfortable but at the same time really fresh, so thank you for helping to alleviate my moving nerves!

  11. LOVE the bag!

  17. I think it looks amazing! It’s very innovating, especially for a personal style blog! I’m so amazed at your coding skills (even though I know you sort of do this for a living) really, some would be more than welcome to code my blog in this way! It really is an improvement, I don’t know why I love it so much. It turns this more into a little platform and you’re right, all your great but older posts shouldn’t be forgotten! :)

  18. I love your coat… it is really nice!

  19. I think the new layout is just fine. looks great, you still have an amazing blog.

  20. Oh no, I hope the paint wasn’t a permanent strike against your outfit! If it was the black, at least the colors matched… but still!

And I love the new layout, The hovering feature along the top is nice.

  22. You’ve always been an inspiring blogger. I’ve been following your blog for so long now that I think I’ve gone through a few layouts by now. This is by far my favorite one!

Also, I was wondering if you have ever gotten paid to make a layout? Not a blogging layout, but more specifically one for a portfolio of some sort? I am a minimalistic person when it comes to layout design and if anyone can do it, I know you can (or well that is you even do that kind of stuff for people, haha).

  23. super duper. i like it. (and the mug. holy cow!)

  27. O-M-G. That top photo is so hawt. Whoever took that picture is uber talented.

Umm, just for the record I am insanely inspired by your blog Shini. Not just the photos but the layout. I truly believe you are one of the most talented bloggers out there. Not only are you beautiful and witty and driven and nice… you can take one mean ass picture and you can DESIGN A WEBSITE?!

    Jaw. On. Floor.

Honestly, the site is kick butt. You’re totally raising the bar for what a blog should be like. Coming to park and cube makes me feel inspired in terms of fashion but also inspires me in terms of photography but also pushes me to improve what I’m doing. I love that.

GROUP HUG! Love you lots. xx

*by the way i also love to see your beautiful picture trough your instagram :)

  53. Suuuch a wonderful comment, thank you, so flattered! I don’t know about about thinner but ever since I got it cut people keep thinking i”m much older than I am? Not happy. Loving the gold cuffs paired with the nude clutch in your last post btw! x

  54. Absolutely love the polished-slouchy look of this outfit…. so, are those kurt geiger heels comfortable?

  55. It actually is, although after about 3 hours of walking it feels like there’s a nail inside the shoe…

  56. Kat

The new layout is great, except for one thing. There should be quick new/older post links at the top. It’s a pain to scroll past all the comments :\

  57. shini, this is why you are the bomb. well among many other reasons duh – but that you redesign your blog but still offer the old view for readers who may not want to take the leap! bomb.

  58. Patty

Oh Shini, you can do no wrong. Love the new design!

  59. karen

you wear some of the most inspirational outfit- sometimes its hard to remember that being stylish or chic isn’t about piling on the accessories and layers but rather that it can be very simple. thanks for reminding me!

    Hi Shini <3

I recently chopped off my butt-length hair to one that's v much like yours! My LIFE would so be made if you could share just how you style your hair- looks so effortlessly chic! :D What styling products did you use?

Hehe and just so you know, i saw your feature on Urban and here i am- hooked. Bookmarked!!

    -Ginger

  61. HELLO! Sorry about the late response. Goodness, my hair length after chopping it all off has been the bane of my existence for the past few months…
I just have NO idea how to style it! I’m probably in denial stage so I just tie it up and secure any loose ends with bobby pins, but when it comes to styling products…. let’s just say I only started using a blowdryer a few weeks after I got the hair cut. This might help though – http://bit.ly/N5nLOn, http://bit.ly/N5nKu1 – helped me at least how to do a bun with my short hair!
