LFW Day 2: Irony Week
22nd September 2011

Jacket – Paul & Joe, Trousers & Clutch – ASOS, Bag – On loan from Mulberry, Shoes – Zara, Shirt – Gmarket Being a blogger at LFW this season: 1. A girl attending to the ‘blogger queue’ types in Park & Q dot com and tells me in the most matter-of-fact tone that my blog doesn’t exist. After a flurry of failed ‘cube’ jokes the blog finally loads on the laptop and she scrubs her touchpad down the first page, skimming through posts that took 5 hours to put together. Then she nods, says ‘Yeah… I like it‘ and asks for my statistics. I get a Blogger Pass. 2. The security man at the BFC tent thumbs my pass and frowns. ‘Yes, you may run in and get a few,’ he says, ‘but the Vitamin Water bottles aren’t just for anybody, you know’. Later I present my ticket for a show, sponsored by Vitamin Water – [...]

A Unique View
21st September 2011

Topshop Unique show, London Fashion Week at the Old Waterloo Terminal 18/09/11 The other day, Craig mentioned that it’d be amazing to be invisible as a streetstyle photographer, of course at which point I looked around because I could swear there’s no one there… He’s pretty good at it though, well, except when he wears the brightest yellow rain poncho – that’s how he gets shots of models running, away from him le obviously. I digress. These shots at Topshop Unique may seem that I either was 1) squatting straight bang in the centre of the catwalk, or 2) was invisible. Fact is, Topshop came up with the most unique seating arrangement for bloggers – 3 rows of seats flanking the narrow entrance of the catwalk – we were basically on the catwalk. (Check here) It’s genius though, and so generous, because so far I’ve been seeing nothing but backwardsness [...]

LFW Day 1: Seasickness
17th September 2011

Sweater- H&M, Skirt – Topshop, Jeans – Courtesy of Raw Denim Bar, Shoes – Chloe Sevigney x Opening Ceremony, Bag – on loan from Mulberry, Silver Clutch – ASOS, Planner – Filofax World, meet my I will never wear these bastards again shoes. They were determined as shelf ornament since the last time it stumpified my poor feet, banished to live a life among the books…. but I guess this is how women go on to have their second child, all memory of pain wiped clean. Did I just compare invaluable childbirth to walking on hooves? Perhaps, but the pain surely induces a similar kind of reaction of wanting to squat in a corner and wail like a pirate with seasickness, yarr? Thank you Daniel of Bloglovin’ for helping with the photos!

Freerange Middlesex
8th July 2011

Middlesex University graduate show, Freerange Art & Design show There really should be much less underestimating of student designers and even lesser overestimating of bigger designers, some of these students here bring more milkshake to the yard (+boys) than the powder milk I sometimes see during LFW. These are my top seven, but absolutely head over heels for the menswear collections by Yasmin Bawa and Rasha Swais. Head over heels also for that Asian girl I seem to have developed a girl-crush on in that 15 minutes of catwalk, WHO IS SHE AND CAN SHE HAVE MY NUMBER? Freerange exhibitions of graduates and students of all manner of design ends on the 25th of July, get down there before I crack my whip. Thank you to Lucy of Margaret PR for hooking me up with the show!

Breeze
18th May 2011

Agata Wojtkiewicz Joanna Klimas Paprocki & Brzozowski show & backstage Polish Fashion Week; Łódź Fashion Philosophy; Official page, Facebook; Vienna International Hotels Blog From the high ceilings of Andel’s loft suites to floating silk grazing the polished catwalk, my Łódź (Wuudge) Fashion Week experience couldn’t translate better into anything other than a light spring breeze. Oskar shepherded us to formidable seats at each show, the collections melted in the mouth, and if you can believe it, every single pair of heels fit the models’ feet. I feel that some international press members have been slightly too critical on the design & organization and too proudly sat on their high horses, and as much as I may be on my own high horse (donkey on platforms, for what authority do I have) making such remark, Łódź you please cut some slack for a young city? Sure, the theatre aspect is still yet to drop anchor, but [...]
