A Galaxy in my sleeve
6th February 2013

Will instagram for food, I kid you not Jenny from the (Swiss) block (of cheese) (All instagram-style additions in this post shot with the Samsung Galaxy Camera) Military coat – Zara. Jeans – James Jeans. Shoes – Isabel Marant. Scarf – Highlands tartan scarf. White cashmere turtleneck – Uniqlo. Travel wallet – LV Mon Monogram; Thank you Jen for the shots of moi! Last weekend my life turned a corner… correction, my crusade for a hyperglossed online representation of my life turned a corner. Berlin had won the Most Photogenic City as part of Samsung’s Life’s a Photo social campaign around the new Samsung Galaxy Camera, and I was part of 45 bloggers that were invited out in celebration. Guys, this camera changes nothing, and absolutely everything – I’m having a whole new instagramming experience with this. See, I’ll still pause a perfectly civil dinner to do Taichi moves over the [...]

Transformer
25th June 2011

Boo you whore (Mean Girls 2004) ASUS EEE Pad Transformer; Brown Bag – Yesstyle When device with the name like female hygiene supplement came out last year and geeks insisted on shoving tent poles into cement cracks on sidewalks eight hours before the fruit store opened, I was still MEH-ing about the necessity of such devices – as lieutenant of the 21st Century sceptics, why it’s my duty. Email, movies, music on the go, yay, like I need another thing to bother me from concentrating on walking on my super fashionista 5 inch heels that lets me breath the same airspace as the rollerbladers. All I thought was the second generation coming out with phone functions and chuckled at the eventual image of people holding up a huge tablet on their cheeks to call friends and smearing foundation on the screen. Yes yes, that’s the extent of my imagination. Dinosaurs [...]

Wave
13th March 2011

Samsung Wave II, courtesy of Spreading Jam & Samsung Shots from London Underground, LFW, home, home 2 (Warsaw), Freemasons’ Hall, Next HQ, airport, Topshop… etc I think the reason I agreed to take part in the Samsung Now Project was predominantly the fact that the Wave II phone spoke Korean – what a novelty it was to be able to type in Korean to my friends (by friends I mean ramen bowls with eyes drawn on)…  later when I read the small print I noticed keywords like facebook, filters and competition… aych, them speedbumps are never visible at first glance. But alas, the only ‘speedbumps’ I let get in my way were my boobs while squeezing under the BFC camera at the PPQ show. For the past 2 months I’ve been putting the Canon to bed early and going out with the Wave II to snap some ‘Now‘ moments. Then I’d come [...]

LomoAmiga
23rd December 2010

Lomo LC-A+ Courtesy of Lomography Big apologies to Lomography as I’m very certain they approached me with the LomoAmigo project hoping I might share some fashion scenes. I do think these results do emphasize the worth of the camera better – my ordinary life has quite a low fashion value, and if the LC-A+ is truly an snapper for life it would’ve compiled 5 rolls of absolutely randomness with only a sprinkle of said ‘fashion’, and voila what do we have here. The only thing I could ever ‘whip out’ in my life had been the tissues in the bra when I was 13 before my mother would approach me, but the past few months the camera had cosily taken its place in there. The reason I carry this around everywhere is because there’s hardly any obligation for composition or simply, much thought really, into photographing – of course after [...]

SONY DSC
Nex5 Donkey
26th November 2010

Shot with the Sony Nex-5; Note, photos were (colour, light, crop) treated in post-production. I guess it’s about high time I did this review post on the Sony Nex-5 I promised about a month ago. Naturally, if I was at the reading-end of this promise I would’ve enquired whether the review was being delivered by a three legged donkey and could I please get my act straight. In fact it was. Delivered by a donkey. Don’t insult the disabled donkey. I won’t go into the coming-of story of the model; that, including technical specs, you can read here. My experience with the camera, albeit short, did put me in a rather shaky relationship with my current point-and-shoot, the Nikon P5000. Note, I didn’t compare it to my Canon DSLR – it’s a little hard to compare the two; after a few days with the Sony I realised this wasn’t meant to [...]
