A visit to Dotty-san
6th September 2012

Red and white (high in opacity – mine is from Essie) are basically the only two colours you’ll need to rock this party but it might be fun to add a bit of LV flair and accent with a yellow, green or black. Otherwise the usual – top & base coat, toothpick or pin, scrap bit of paper to use as palette (best if laminated paper)

Azuma Makoto Studio Tokyo (26)
Lost in Foliage
18th August 2012

Azuma Makoto Atelier, Tokyo                       No cello-tape, I promise           Distortion x Flowers       Fish and flowers   Wearing: Floral blouse, Zara. Balloon skirt, ASOS. Heels, Alexander Wang via Vestiaire Collective. DIY Cropped black jeans, Zara. Ice cream and fresh flowers – two things that I would not mind living and breathing for the rest of my life. Did I read somewhere OREO’s do ice cream cookie sandwiches? I’m smearing peanut butter on my body right now, somebody run to the cornerstore. (Are they actually available in the UK?) Speaking of flowers, today a gust of wind passed through our window and knocked down a vase that had a slightly unhappy bunch of – quote, unquote - dahlias (these are what actual dahlias look like, if you’re curious), and it just happened to land square on a pile [...]

Kings’ Crib
29th June 2012

Château de Fontainebleu Neoprene Jacket, H&M trend. Jeans, Levi’s. Scarf, Alice & Olivia. Sunnies, Jeepers Peepers. Oxford Shirt, hubby’s Ralph Lauren. Chelsea Boots, Topshop So… remember that giggle-and-titter trip to Disneyland from a few moons past with Jen, Fred & hubby? Believe it or not, there was quite a journey before we reached happily ever after in the land of dreams – no I’m not referring to the Eurostar ride. I’m talking about the shuffle into van and drive down towards the gleaming castle and towards a distant, yet still squeaky-clear, melody of ‘it’s a small world afterall’ and everyone hoots – even the boys – then driver takes sharp left and continues down 45 minutes through French countryside and passengers sulk silently type of journey. Later we found out the Vienna International Hotels team had so gracefully planned an extensive itinerary, which involved of touching four corners of the Disney experience, where three don’t sell princess dresses. Disneyland was [...]

Mary K for Toppers
10th February 2012

Mary Katrantzou for Topshop; Images via  Topshop I know this news is already spreading like wildfire across the interwebz but just wanted to do a bit of heads-up from my end. Long-time readers will know I go KAKA for Mary Katrantzou so this is one designer x high street collaboration worth hollering. It’s so soon too – 17th of February – first day of LFW for the relevant bunch, and prices start from £40 but the dresses are on triple digits… not so horrific when compared to her usual five-digit frocks. Will be looking forward to some wrestling in stores next week, I bring the mat, you can bring the oil?

Chairwoman
6th November 2010

Page 27 of ’100 Chairs in 100 Days’ by Martino Gamper Came across this amazing book 100 Chairs in 100 Days by Martino Gamper while I was waiting for Jill in Leila’s cafe, enjoying a Polish ham & mustard sandwich and a latté. I couldn’t help but think that this is the type of approach I’d want to have towards my wardrobe – marrying the most unlikely shapes and elements, yet to be fully functional as a whole… Did someone say Park & Stool…?
