Shell
23rd October 2011

Jacket – Barbour, Bag – Coach, Boots – Topshop Just a few things that’s become my everyday grab before wheeling the Chinawoman out to work. In fact, they’ve become this ‘shell’ I slip out from when I get home in the evening, then it’s go get a cup of tea and sit in front of the washing machine till the episode is over and the credits go up… and in the morning I just slap some ‘makeup’ on and slither back in. Pretty exciting crustacean I make I must say. Khaki quilted Barbour jacket - Perfect light windbreaker; Coach suede bag (massive thanks to tcs & Coach) – Otherwise known as Mary Poppins bag, i.e fits the Canon camera so it must be magical (must try lamp…); and Topshop Ambush chelsea boots – best heel height for cycling! I’ve actually considered saving up for the Acne Pistols but I think the conclusion was that [...]

Everything but the Dress
31st August 2011

Kurt Geiger Mayfair Boutique; Thank you Kit for the shots of ipad case & trying on shoes! And this is how I get random glitter on my face. Can’t help it if my magpie GPS tells me to take the next right turn and I end up in the new Kurt Geiger Mayfair Boutique (I swear that thing would’ve found Bin Laden, had he been made out of glitter) (does not work on lame vampires though) but I picked up literally every shoe and then proceeded on slapping myself with the same hand chanting WOMAN YOU HAVE TOO MANY SHOES AT HOME. So I get some glitter on my face, and some organic blush application on the cheeks – it indeed is Everything But the Dress at Kurt Geiger. On another note, I think it’s high time the blogshop reopened, I have many shoes at home to sell, women.

Contraption
16th August 2011

Shoes – Courtesy of Upper Street, Anklet – ASOS, Nail Polish – Organic Phramacy Shhh, shh for a second, do you hear that screeching? That, dear readers, would be the noise coming from the cogs grinding in my cage as I try to make decisions. Back when I was in uni, Ellen and I used to shoo away our waiter five times before deciding on what to get – we’d eenie-meenie-minie-mo the menu and end up with spinach goo, apple crumble and carrot juice. Think it would’ve been tastier to catch a tiger by the toe and grill that instead. I KID YOU NOT, this Upper Street session took longer than it took for me to write my dissertation. Wait, that’s not saying much is it, all you students already know it was written in the bus on the deadline morning… After hours of rotating the virtual foot round and [...]

Avec Dior
7th July 2011

In Dior Joaillerie-Horlogerie boutique 8 place Vendôme; Hotel de Crillon I must’ve simmered in the London pot little too long to think that stepping out with a lightly-packed bag while high-fiving the drunk neighbour at 4am is a very appropriate start to a romantic Paris trip. Drunk on a Sunday night, true hipster pirate freelancer spirit, aye? I should know, I’m captain of that ship. We’re sinking and all that. Anyway. On arrival I searched around for my driver (ho ho my driver, when would I EVER say that again) and spotted a man holding up a ‘Mr Parcchini’ sign. Naturally I glazed over and kept looking, thinking poor Italian man with a name that sounds like food. After a flurry of texts between Brian the PR, turns out Mr Parcchini (ParkShini) was to be my alias in Paris – I’m guessing the reservation was made by phone. So I said [...]

In my knapsack
8th February 2011

MOVING ON. What better topic is there but a swig of voyeurism to diffuse the the aftertaste of woe from previous posts? Here’s a handful and a half of junk I carry around in my bag, numbered for convenience’s sake because I don’t possibly know enough directional expression – living in Poland and not speaking the language fluently has taught me that pointing is the best way of communicating. Samsung Wave II – On a test ride for a fun project (Courtesy of Spreading Jam) but already 70% sold on the Korean typing capabilities. LC-A+ camera, usually takes about 4 days to realise that I’ve been shooting sans film. Moleskine 18-month scheduler The one and only platform I practice handwriting. After years of keyboard bashing the handwriting now resembles one of a second grader. Balenciaga Purse Spray – Only a recent addition to the sack family, wearing still leaves me [...]
