Truely majestic hospitality: Plaza Athénée, Paris Bag by Marc Jacobs Necklace, DanniJo Dior Institut au Plaza Athéné The Courtyard Dinner at the chef’s table at the Alain Ducasse restaurant Head chef, Christophe Saintagne Neoprene Jacket, H&M Trend. Knitted pleat-dress, Maska. Stone-Stud heels, Zara. Breakfast! Thank you to TCS and Hermes for the lovely trip. As I’m typing this my husband and I are sitting side by side at our white £39 IKEA desk, with our favourite lamp lit dimly behind us – favourite because it has an energy-saving lightbulb that is kind to the monthly bill, and the fact that it takes about 3 gazillion years for it to get to maximum brightness so at least in the meantime it sets a moody light while we randomly slot a few bites of our swirly-pasta dinner between our online game/Sex & the City marathon (him/me). I’m also editing these photos, and realizing what a world apart it is – [...]

Paris sunrise Breakfast through the privacy hatch Avenue Montaigne December 2011; HOTEL DE LA TREMOILLE, 14 rue de la Trémoille – 75008 Paris, Tel. : +33 (0)1 56 52 14 00, reservation@hotel-tremoille.com The 7:30am Eurostar train smells of musk, newspapers and coffee, the second class cabin seats are bustling with men in suits, lodged expertly in positions that ensure least creasing on their trousers. I stand out in my plaid shirt and dark skinny Levi’s, knitting needles in each sleeve and balancing a coffee formula with a little too much milk. The bloke next to me glances occasionally at the snood factory, and flutters open his newspaper to wave off the fluff. It’s a food-trip to Paris for work, and I’m to meet Sophie at 11 o’ clock for brunch at the Rose Bakery on Rue des Martyrs. The train pulls into a foggy opening of Gare du Nord and the doors slide open [...]

Jacket by Fairground, Top by Urban Outfitters, fringed waistcoat Vintage Swimsuit courtesy of Mouille Maria Doychinova of Doychinoff Lake’s – My Lake Hotel & Spa in Wörthersee, Austria; Thank you Kit for the outfit shots! I guess the best thing about seeing a lake outside your window first thing when you wake up is the fact that it perfectly reminds the body of morning toilet, or was that the galleon of coffee from the previous night while blogging in the hotel restaurant? The truth is, the rooms were all booked up for the Lake’s Fashion Days and the reception couldn’t find us spare dongles for the Wifi in our rooms, so Kit and I had to resort to sitting next to the thumping music of the lounge, nursing the backlog beast by blogging (alliteration at its best). On hindsight the combination of the lake-view and wifi (or lack therof) was really what made [...]

We Are Handsome swimsuit (Robinson Pfeffer PR); ASOS white brogues Kit of Style Slicker, my foxy travel companion Photo stolen from Lake’s site buhehheh Lake’s – My Lake Hotel & Spa in Wörthersee, Austria; Wearing sweater from Gmarket, Dress by Obakki (Robinson Pfeffer), Shoes by Salvatore Ferragamo, Belt stolen from Kit (from Mexx). Not long after I’d arrived in London at the beginning of May I had to spill the Poland luggage onto my eerily foreign bedroom floor (almost alien after three months of absence) and compress the contents into an Austria.zip carry-on to set off for Wörthersee, Austria the next day. Fun fact: My life in Europe had actually started in Vienna, Austria before we moved to Poland. Fun fact #2: Vigorous clapping upon touchdown still exists on Ryanair flights. A waft of nostalgia hit the minute I stepped out of the plane, and all throughout the drive to the hotel I was delighting at the details outside the window [...]
