Yes!
22nd December 2011

Biżuteria (Jewellery) Yes calendar launch party, Warsaw; Shoes – United Nude A presstrip to my home town, why finally! It was the idea of rocking up at the party in my own wheels (also acts as portable changing room) (also not really mine) and accommodation at a 10-star hotel with my mother as maitre d’ that made me think it’d surely be a unicorn-magical trip. Well. Breakfast in bed is quite literally breakfast in bed when the porter (slash maitre d’ slash CEO of Park family) shoves a banana under your pillow and requests I make a snap decision whether the towels go in the bathtub or back on the rails because it’s laundry day. Of course, there’s nothing snappy about said decision because I’ve been milking her Wi-fi till 4 in the morning and I might as well be holding a full-on conversation with a gargling orc under the covers. The Polish star jewellery company Yes, [...]

3rd May 2011

Dress – YesStyle (Sponsor) Royal Baths Park Old Orangery (Łazienki Królewskie Park Stara Pomarańczarnia); White Watch - Too Late (Courtesy of ModMod), Gold Watch – Casio (via ASOS), Bracelets – Courtsey of Kelly Melu Wish I had a revitalizing quote written in a serif font to leave at the foot of this post instead of the usual partypooper rant but “One cannot simply attain the key to the archive of well-strung words while incessantly watching Family Guy like there is no tomorrow”, according to Abraham Lincoln.

The Yard Upstairs
1st May 2011

Yardsale Venue: Mulholland Drive vintage store Joanna of the Style Digger Ryfka of Szafa Sztywniary Kasia of Plenty of Hangers and Weronika of Raspberry and Red £4 hat that refused to fit my 4km circumference head. Sweater – Monnari, Dress – MNG, Shoes – River Island, Belt – JHYoo, Floral Bag – Courtesy of Catherine Membre Easter Bunny Sale (Blogger Yard Sale) Krakow; 26th April 2011 When I was in highschool I routinely took an early train down to Krakow to spend the day rediscovering the Auschwitz concentration camp – I’d go every season, back then SS/AW referred to the two-and-a-half hour trainride South – I guess the Holocaust votary in me wanted to experience the camp in all possible weather conditions at the very least. So Krakow only really meant that one thing to me, and I don’t think I’d ever given it a proper chance to flaunt its beauty as a city. [...]

At the Cooks
24th April 2011

House punch, Pea soup, beef chop with mushrooms and beetroot side; Meringue dessert Red – Mum’s Simple, Pants – Zara, Shoes – Salvatore Ferragamo (via ebay), Bracelets – Courtesy of Kelly Mellu, Bag – Lithuanian Market Let’s skip the beating-around-the-bush thing I normally do in this blurb and get straight to the point, I love this place and would gladly get on a plane for a lunch here. The Gesseler brothers’ U Kucharzy (At the Cooks’) restaurant in Warsaw is perhaps my favourite in town, although yes, I don’t qualify to say things like ‘best in town‘ because the loser that I am don’t actually know all the things in town… But get this, at lunchtime during weekdays a traditional Polish three-course meal is £5, everyday a different menu. There’s an open kitchen, the atmosphere is wartime cafe-esque, and the waiter serves you at your own table from the food trolly. The [...]

Zien’ Dobry
16th April 2011

Maciej Zień boutique , ul. Mokotowska 57 Not sure what kind of courage beverage I drank in the morning before my breakfast Red Bull but A and I were walking by the Maciej Zień boutique and I caught myself climbing the steps. Usually with my chronic case of boutique-phobia I either need to pick a nail or ten outside the doors before mustering up the courage to push through the heavy doors, or hire a guide dog and a long stick… (This being the reason I’ve never been inside a Chanel boutique, as ironic as that sounds) I guess I know that I don’t belong when my two-month rent is hanging from hangers. Well, if we’re using that conversion method then I guess this boutique is real-estate bonanza. Zień is famous for dressing Polish celebrities; his designs exude an understated elegance, mostly expressed in the choice of fabric and draping methods. [...]
