Shoes – Kit’s Bertie, Sweater – From Blogger Yard Sale, Dress – Obakki, Watch – Casio, Sunglasses – Ralph Lauren courtesy of MisterSpex

Here’s a life lesson, when you buy cat food, the cat on the packaging does not come with the purchase. There’s not much of a story, but if I were to start at the beginning, I was sitting in a dark corner of a bar and Mr. Spex, a tall German bloke, slid over to and asked if I’d like to be featured on his website. So I replied OK, but only if it doens’t involve whips, I’m allergic to cow leather. Noo, Mister Spex, the European spectacles emporium, invited me to be a part of their Bloggers say: Wear Sunglasses campaign and offered a choice of a pair that represents the current trend best. I think I fell for keyhole glasses not only because they were ‘in’ but also looked delish on every editorial I’ve seen since March, so I pointed to the Ralph Laurens. Of course, I’d clean forgotten about my Asian non-existent nose bridge and assumed the glasses to suit my round face,  in other words, assumed I had a kitty to feed. Oh the sadness. In reality the glasses sit snug on my cheeks, and one can build a village in the space between the hovering glasses and my actual nose.

Meow :(

Thank you Kit & Jen for the shots.

  1. I have the same Asian problem. I can only wear very large sunglasses because my head is the size of a watermelon.

I don’t have a high bridge either, and it’s so annoying when my lashes touch the lens and then it gets all smudgy, having to clean it every 3 seconds…hehe

  17. Hahahha…. why are you so stinking hilarious? Loooove the story of Mr Spex and you getting down with the frisky talk in the bar. Mr Spex… it does have a certain ring to it.

    Anyway.

I do love these glasses and it’s a shame they didn’t suit you more. Striped zebra, ralph lauren, and sunnies all rolled into one is pretty much a heavenly concept. xx

I am sorry for this unrelated question. What do think about Eva Minge? A read lately that she is the most often mention polish designer in foreign fashion magazines. She was one of the “sensation” of New York Fashion Show and one of her client is Cheryl Cole. But I personally don’t think she is all that good. Any opinions?

Hmm I really don’t know so much about Eva Minge and I did pass her boutique when I was in Wroclaw a few weeks ago and remember not being so impressed, but whenever I hear her name I’m reminded of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRVYaXuUlg0, that’s the only thing I can associate her with haha… I love PEEROGI too.

I am well related to that feeling, my nose doesn’t want to hold up almost any sunglasses I try, that’s why I’m extremely loyal to my Rayban Wayfarer (they had to be fixed to suit me, though).

  38. sigh. gorgeous photography & lovely post as always. i am entirely empathetic on the hovering glasses … lol as the lady selling sunglasses at a local korean market joked, if need be, she can always build a nose for my glasses with those clear rubber pads.

and, as always, that’s a gorgeous yellow lacquer! might i inquire what brand/colour it is? a good yellow is ridiculously difficult to find, and i love that paul & joe red you linked me to last time! (:

Hahah thought I read ‘she can always build a nose’ as in surgery, clearly I read every other word… Korea…nose… build…..

The nail polish is from Inglot, it’s a Polish company but I think they do Austrailia + USA Online shop http://goo.gl/hQJW6 this is the one, matte yellow! It’s a really ordinary yellow though, MAC/Sephora or any drugstore brands should have them really!

heh, that’s actually what my mum and i thought, too, when she first said it … |: then we realised what she meant.

awesome; thanks! i’ve been through a few pale yellows from sephora/drug stores (haven’t checked out mac yet), but they’ve all been such nightmares to apply. even the new chanel yellow requires a certain amount of manoeuvring … sigh. maybe it’s just me …

(IF you have any terrible photos) If you have a chance pleaes take a look at my blog and let me know what you think. I would love to have your advice!!
