I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

I’m sorry for the lack of posts, I’m either running around begging my mother to take outfit pics  (then later deleting the whole set becausem she manages to cut off my feet in every single shot), or busy killing my Sims3 character by shoving her in a pool and removing the step-ladder from build mode. My current mission is to get the roommate to befriend the Grim Reaper and eventually seduce him and see if they can ‘go steady’. This involves inviting elderly Sim neighbours to see if they might want to pass away in my house. Anything to meet my dearest Grim. I know, freak.

On a lighter, and relatively more sane, note, thank you to William for these two amazing illustrations.

William e-mailed me a few weeks ago, letting me know that he is also a Christian and then introduced me to his blog where he does daily drawings of friends, fashion and life with added scripture. I couldn’t express my surprise when I found the explosion of God’s blessings, inspiration and encouragement in that one small blog, a blog still wearing blogspot’s default layout and looking like absolutely no harm in the world. If you look closer, there’s a story and mystery in every illustration, drawn or painted with inimitable quirkiness. Now you can imagine my delight when he suggested to paint a few of me.

Well you knew it was coming, the birthday post. I’m sorry. At least it only comes around once a year, and I’m 5.5 hours late myself. Being born on the 4th of July has all its advantages – the fireworks, aww… all this for mee?

I actually hate the hype around birthdays – only blaming the fact that I never ever had any hype for mine. Since July is the summer vacation month and no one was around to remember, all I’m used to getting are those e-cards with cliché messages from an online database that needs an excuse to remind a long-lost visitor of its existence. Ah look at me wallowing in self pity, nevermind this big baby. Oh and I’m not looking for happy birthday hope you had a great day comments so please, please, tell me something about the weather or something.

I just want to thank God for all the blessings, love and guidance for the past year.
I don’t know what my future holds but I know it’s safe because You hold it.

My family were invited to the annual July 4th Independence Day party held by the American Embassy in Warsaw, the one we always show up overdressed and famished, like it’s a clothes-for-food affair. Trade in an unnecesary sock for that rare American cupcake (Such cupcakes are nonexistent here). That plus one on my invitation? Meet Ms. Stomach, my secretary. Funnily it’s also the one where we squeeze through a throng of who-are-these-people in the huge embassy resident gardens without seeing a single familiar face before ending up exactly where we started. I’m in the right party, yes?

So this year we left quite early, seeing that again there was no one familar, and the sausage tent wouldn’t take my shoe telling me the food is all free. Free? I don’t know that currency, I’m overdressed and hungry, boy! They had a Starbucks tent, if you’d believe it, and into it a gigantic queue that bent around the house. It’s only been a few months since the very first Starbucks opened in Warsaw so let’s understand, it’s probably still considered holy.

Thank you to Min and Annie from for the awesome gifts. Check out Schwing Schwing, an online shop based in Singapore that sells delicious and afforable clothes & accessories. :D They ship to all international addresses and the shop is regularly updated with new pieces. Have I mentioned that they’re also incredibly kind? (Thanks Samantha for telling me about them!)
