I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

Leather Jacket – ASOS, Pants – ZARA (Gift from Ellen!), Shoes – Emma Cook for Topshop, Bag – Etsy | Thank you Maciek for taking pictures of me!

So it looks like I need to pin a spare Compact Flash also to my panties (alongside phone and oyster card) for situations like today when I ran around town from morning till evening with a camera that weighs as much as a bag of flour and then find the memory card slot empty. I carry my camera everywhere, this should not happen, it’s like putting on your makeup but not having washed your face, WHAT IS THE POINT.
So I bought myself two single use cameras (2-for-1 deal, schweet) from Boots which reminded me of what taking pictures in 1998 was like: 27 precious frames of irreversible light engravements (sometimes 36!), the persistent baffle whether this light setting needs the flash or not…* I do love film photography, but single-use cameras are a whole other species that are like cockroaches that will never go extinct, they’re always there somewhere, lurking with confusing viewfinders and mediocre flash.

*answer: always needs flash unless you’re on the sun, cheap ISO 400 film is an obese fail

Mr. Lamp indeed banished to stairs after unforgivable crime of being too obnoxiously big for my tiny studio flat. Sorry, had to choose between you or stack of shoe boxes. Boxes illuminate too…

  1. I just bought a bunch of disposable cameras this weekend! I love the grainy feel, it’s such a nice contrast to the slrs we use thse days.
Your grey bag is just fantastic! xo

  2. Lugging your camera around all day when you’ve forgotten your memory card is the most annoying thing ever! That happened to me before while also taking pictures the whole day and not realizing that there was no point at all. I’m not sure how it took the whole day to notice that there was no memory card but I felt like a huge idiot.

  3. I completely fail at getting disposable camera film developed. I definitely still have undeveloped film from 5 years ago. That’s why I sometimes make the choice of dragging a polaroid camera with me. Instant gratification so you’ll never not have anything to show for lugging something heavy around for a day. There should always be a reward for lugging heavy stuff around.

  4. ahahaha* they still look great though! imperfections are what make those photos beautiful.

  5. I used to develop all my photos by hand at school in B&W, but now they’ve stopped producing the chemicals for it. Resorting to my shit point-and-shoot, definitely considering investing in a polaroid for instanteous photos :) You take such lovely photographs, and the detailing put into your outfits is amazing. <3

  6. Beautiful photography, and I love your pants!!

  7. I have had that happen to me countless times, forgetting my memory card in my card reader and bringing my camera with me to school or something. still, these are great pictures. :)

  8. The best shots on your blog ever!

    :)

  9. Love the one of stairs :)

  10. ooooh i hate when that happens… forgetting the memory card. i keep a couple in my wallet just incase.

your photos are still gorgeous. loving the second one. and how the colors all seem to flow through each picture.

aww, poor mr. lamp :( haha

  11. AMAZING bag!

    xxx from barcelona!

  12. Your bag is the most beautiful sight!!!

  13. i love how the photos appear grainy-ish and faded. nice touch.

  14. totally agreed with you… iso400 needs a flash.
thou u can yield blurry light pic indoor…. ;)
like how u tie your hair. still not dare to do that outside the house. LOL

  15. I’ve had that happen a few times…with your camera, finding what seems to be the perfect shot, having your camera already…and then wondering why the shutter just won’t go off.
But film cameras always produce these mysterious & nostalgic images, I especially love the 2nd one from the top!

  16. That’s sort of why I like the occasional disposable camera in my life. People take a shot, and they move on, and no one gets to check how it turned out, do a retake, etc. Much more spontaneity and chance to it. And even the chore of getting it developed- there’s nothing like revisiting a day a few months (or a year) later when you finally get around to finishing the process.

  17. love ur blog…

  18. Maybe I just have a dirty mind…. but Mr Lamp does look an awful lot like a phallic symbol!!!

    Love film cams ;)

  19. Oh I love these shots, sometimes it’s good to break out the old disposables. It’s kind of strange when you realise that not too long ago, film was the norm and now this type of picture quality is a kind of nostalgic and a bit of a novelty!!

  20. love the grey bag!
