I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

problem with posting often is that, sure, at times there’s just naturally something to share – usually a somewhat cavalier commentary on other people’s jobs and practices, but there are times where you can’t even remember what you did that day or why the particular outfit. I personally call it the post-grub epoch, where everything is in slow motion and there is a gleaming bed in the horizon with… …wow I just fell asleep, sorry. OK let me cheat and describe something practical from the outfit: The Zara shoes are surprisingly comfortable, they’re good for about the first five hours, and after that it feels like you’re walking on dominos pieces. The coat is LETHAL when going down the stairs at the tube station, the wrinkles in the fifth pic is evidence to how much I scrunch it up to save my dear life. Last but not least, a silk scarf in 3° Celsius is the stupidest idea.

  5. I love those Zara boots are so nice! I wish I could find them at my local Zara

  6. haha the coat does indeed look super long; but what a beautiful colour nonetheless <3 the silk scarf is pretty too! but you must have been freezing since your coat is cut quite low!

  7. Love the honest assessment of your outfit in terms of practicalities! I really want a long coat too but was also worried about it being dragged on the floor. Having heard your report, I think I’ll buy one in real life and not online so I can try it on (I’m pretty short). Regardless of the practical, it’s a lovely outfit!

  8. LOL!!!! you still look incredibly chic! that’s the POINT right? hehe. what we do for fashion…..:P

lurrrrrve the long coat Shini, it’s making me want to go out and buy a floor grazer for sure!

  9. you have so much class and natural elegance! i love how everything looks on u!

  10. I love long coats because they’re stylish and elegant but I hate them too for the reason you mentioned. I don’t think they’re meant for a mere mortal’s lifestyle (not that I’m suggesting you have anything to do with that!). Love the Zara booties and I think 5 hours of pain-free wear is a good score! :))

  12. Nice outfit! I’ve found that long dresses/skirts/coats/anything get caught in the sticky breeze when descending into the tube. Also, silk scarf? What were you thinking, young lady? It’s cold out! (Honestly, though, I’ve been making the same mistake.)

  13. i just love that combo of a long coat and a striped top, amazing look, and so chic

  15. Without heels they completely drag on me hahahaa I think its a model coat…or a prat coat, depends how you look at it I guess ;)

  16. hehe… like those shoes are like Cinderella’s coach then: a few hours of being a gem – turns into a pumpkin at midnight (or gone the 5 hours) next time I’d squeeze a flat second pair in my bag, just in case :)

  17. Haha great post! I was wondering about those shoes, but they look great!! I know what you mean with the subway and the long coat, I also have a long camel coat but I just can’t wear it too often. It’ll get ruined. Ill just have to bike around with it:)

  18. Owh my, to think it might get stuck in the wheels while cycling!!

  19. @Shini,

No worries:) We’re professional bikers over here, I’ve mastered my technique! It’s still clean as a whistle and wrinkly free

  20. BIKERS! Wait are we talking about the same mechanism of travel? If you’re wearing this on a motorbike I’d be extremely impressed :P

  21. On days like this I can’t dress up or try to be fashion forward – I need to grab my nearest cosy knitwear, throw on some jeans or leggings and slip on my little canvas trainers. Sometimes all I need is comfort and a mug full of hot coffee…

Shame I have so much coursework to do, and a meeting over lunchtime… Oh god.

  22. Both the shoes and coat get a LETHAL rating. Maybe even midly STELLAR.

No NO NO! I meant Maggie photos. NOT THIS. The nerve you have to let down a person that is in bed with the Shini Plague.
You were craazee, ma dear, about the scarf and the wet hair specially when you just got better form a cold.

WE HAD SPIDER PANCAKES! That and went mental with heat tech and I got my Lush overdose.

  24. Bahhaah Maggie photos soooooon, can’t do pressday after pressday after pressday :P
    CRAVING SPIDER PANCAKES AGAIN.
Take care, mortal soul, Shini plague only visits to those who are privileged MUAHAHHAHAA.

  25. perfect coat, perfect shoes, perfect bag. All is perfect!!
    I love your outfit Shini!

  26. re: when I saw Chloe shoes I immidiately felt in love with them! But the price is problematic…;) What a pity!

btw. lack of silk scarf in 3° Celsius could be the stupidest idea.

  27. Good logic hahaaa
There was something really similar (I think…) in Urban Outfitters SS11, I’ll show you soon….lemme find…

  28. I see the brown shoes again and I’m jealous again! They’re perfect!

  29. Love that the bag has a slightly Louis Vuitton S/S 09 vibe about it…

  30. great look !

  31. Such a gorgeous bag, love the tassle!

  32. Love the bag and I’m just quite envious that you can wear a long coat like that. Let’s swap coats one day Shini, it’ll be brilliant. What with most of that coat trailing after me, I’ll need my very own page boy…

  33. classic! beautiful! I am dying for these zara boots.
