I've moved on...
...to a different domain. Why, what were you thinking? The truth is, I just woke up one day and decided it's time for a change—a metamorphosis, if you will; or, in layman's terms, if Britney can shave her head, then maybe so can I? Nevertheless, it's been a rather handsome 10 years of talking to you, and thank you for putting up with all my moodswings and terrible dad jokes. Fear not! The hormonal imbalance and jokes are more terrible on CUBICLE, see you there.

So if I was to continue on with the a decade ago… topic, only because my life is so uneventful right now I’ve somehow managed to get hooked on the Disney Channel on Youtube, a decade ago I was at a suitable age to get hooked on the Disney Channel on Youtube. Well lately I couldn’t help but notice that ten years ago my part-time job of Webdesign was considered more of a hobby than an occupation, but of course back then it was those really wack hobbies like today’s let’s blend everything deal that no one really understands. Who knows, maybe blending is the future. There are so many jobs today that didn’t exist back in year 2000, like professional video bloggers on Youtube – how did they survive before 2005!? or DVD makers, how many floppy discs did they need in order to keep 10 Things I Hate About You!? OK those aren’t real jobs, but you get my point. It’s funny though, to think that those of you still in school are actually learning skills for jobs that don’t exist yet today. Well, good luck to studying for a fantasy future!

To the next ten, may we not end up like some of our parents who do not understand what ‘click the mouse and drag it across the desktop’ implies. I fear that technology will run away with time and I’ll wake up one day not knowing why I’m sleeping on a strange machine they call a bed-ographmeter version 2.33x. And one of you will probably have a job of updating the pillow drivers.

I just wrote a paragraph about being in an intimate relationship with my phone and then realized that it was starting to resemble my dissertation about panoptics, global connection and disappearance of space (see you’re already drifting) and decided to delete the whole thing and instead write zebra stories (clear relevance to the outfit, as you can see). Actually it’s 5am so I’ll skip on the zebra story but I’ll tell you that sadly it does not have a happy ending. I know that no one likes un-happy endings, so there, I’ve done the world a favour by heading off to bed, goodnight.

Why the name Park & Cube? [Maria]This is going to sound corny and cliché, but since you asked… Park is my last name, so that one’s easy – the corny starts at Cube.

I realised how fashion blogs can easily turn into something overly materialistic and shallow in content, so I was quite determined to give this blog some depth. I took the idea of a typical square image, and basically gave it more depth in a physical sense. So a 2D, flat or ‘shallow’ element gains depth and becomes a 3D cube. That’s where the Cube is from. Don’t get it? Don’t worry, I don’t really get it either.

Do you have any DIY-projects you’d love to try, but haven’t yet? [Maria]

I’d love to try something like this, jacket embellishment using thick-width ribbons, subtle but bold at the same time. (Found in Anywho)

What’s your favourite area in London? [Zara]

Can’t say I really have a favourite, but I do love the Docklands. Not many people know about it since it’s not really a part of the tourbus route – this is where Canary Wharf is, the business sector of London. No, I don’t hang out with depressed stockbrokers, I just like how the river and concrete meet – sort of like a hypermodern Venice. There are residental areas where flats look out straight onto a canal – One day I’d like to live in one of those flats and toss leftover pizza crusts right out the window for the swans. Convenient waste disposal, I must say.

First of all, thank you so much for all the questions you left on the last post. My blackberry chirps whenever I get a comment and today it was a day-long chirping and tweeting symphony. It really makes my day – the questions are so good too, let me just answer one – has anyone told you you look like Sun from Lost?: Well yes indeed I have been told by numerous people, but only ever online. I told Ellen about this a few weeks ago and all she could say was erm no? If she says no, it’s a no. I kinda see where you’re getting the idea but naaah, she has a whole different vibe. I’ve been told I look like Irina Lazareanu and Hyoni Kang as well so I may as well look like Jack Black. (In fact, on some days I do.)

Anyway, rest for later! Still taking questions for those who might want to take advantage of this and lunge a homework essay question on me – eg. What were the main causes of the Cold War? Discuss.

Just a status update really:

  • I received the ASOS Two-tone tights that I mentioned a few posts back, I’m thinking of wearing the black on the front though, oh I’m such a rebel. (ASOS is having 50% sale now btw)
  • Finally started to knit the wannabe Rodarte dress – I decided to go for 10mm and 15mm needles so that the whole thing goes faster. Unsure if I have enough yarn though.
  • I didn’t mention this, but I bought this maxi dress from Black Luna Vintage ebay store and loving how it’s so hands-on art studio-y. Still trying to find a good way of bringing it out into daylight.
  • Realised that this is my 101st post, making the Q&A post my 100th, what a coincidence. Woohoo free kinder eggs for everyone!

Everybody having a good evening? Good morning to those East of me.
