Onar resort, Andros Island, Greece; Honeymoon in September 2011

If this blog’s timeline ran anywhere close to actual life it might seem that I’m ringing in New Year (along with a gaggle of other bloggers, apparently) from sun-kissed Greece! Wishful thinking, that. No, greetings from a bum that mistook the NYE fireworks for the sound of gunfire shots coming from the Axis-end of a skirmish on Company of Heroes game with the hubby. Toasting away on a white beach while the waves tickle our toes… Between our bites of microwave-pizza we managed to say Happy New Year and continued on for at least 4 more hours on multiplayer computer games in our freezing London flat. These are photos from our honeymoon in Andros island in Greece, just two months ago. I thought this might be as good a time as any, if not ideal, to share them since I’m more than certain that pizza crumbs and deflated cokes simply does not photograph. It’s lovely anyway to start a new year reminiscing the trip that supposedly marks new chapter of one’s life, if I’m not being corny enough!

Oh wow Shini, these photos are so dreamy, Love the bright blues and soft pink hues you’ve captured. I absolutely adore the photo of you in polka dot dress- you look so relaxed and serene! I looks like it was a gorgeous honeymoon. Happy New Year to you too!

I’ve followed your blog for a while now and I can honestly say everyday is something new and exciting to cast my eyes on, not to mention the amusing, journalistic anecdotes that compliments the pictures. I’m a sad little fan and check your blog everyday (if not for a new post – for a reminder of how much I loved the last). Favourite blogger by far, and terribly inspiring. Shini, this looks so dreamy. The washed out colours, the splashing shore… it looks absolutely beautiful. Seriously incredible. Wish I could crawl through the photos and spend a few nights at this resort.

Happy New Year to you and your hubby! Your night sounds quite similar to mine… playing games with Fred, my sister and brother-in-law. Whipped out some champagne 10 minutes to midnight and watched fireworks going on across the horizon. That’s party enough for me.

my dearest, clicking on your blog today (as i do everyday the past whole year at least), i was very surprised cause i was found in fornt of very familiar images.. you see i’m Greek, i live in Athens and i visit Andros island very often.. I’ve been such in a mood for traveling lately that these pictures really get me dreaming about some beautiful and peaceful resort… But I don’t think I’m able to go anywhere in a long time. Certainly very beautiful pictures, it’s almost like you can sense what it was like to be there.

Andros is one of the most beautiful islands around the world..Hope to had an amazing time in Andros!(I’m from Greece and as you can understand I feel proud when I’m listening good comments for my country) anyway..your post is perfect.. Happy New Year! I wish to spend more beautiful moments in 2012!
